About This OpportunitySupport Target's strategic vision by building and improving operational planning tools that connect the supply chain to the company's financial and strategic plans ensuring that supply chain teams have the plans they need to deliver great results.  Responsible for supporting existing models and visioning and building new tools that advance Target's operational planning capabilities.  Use large amounts of data from across the company in dynamic models that project future scenarios. Build and execute reports that fuel continuous improvement.  Provide thought leadership and peer coaching to other analysts, and use data to influence peers and leaders, driving toward action and leading key partners toward the right business decisions.

  • Deploy data-science to address business needs by combining large amounts of data on historical trends and future commitments in data models to project future operational volumes and financial results.
  • Use simulation and statistical analysis of the variety of future possibilities to recommend shifts in supply chain flows that optimize performance given known uncertainty.
  • Conduct statistical analysis of current and new projects impacting the supply chain network such as multichannel growth, inventory optimization, and new merchandising initiatives to enhance supply chain plans.
  • Provide accurate data analysis, clear interpretation, and well-founded insights to deliver recommendations to supply chain leaders.
Process Improvement
  • Develop reporting to provide insight that drives continuous improvement in accuracy and against key cost and quality measures. 
  • Coordinate with other technical experts to automate processes where possible. 
  • Partner with teams such as Merchandising, Store Operations, EDABI, Finance, Logistics and Supply Chain Operations to understand and account for emerging priorities and strategies. 
  • Provide clear summaries of risks, issues, and opportunities to senior leadership across the supply chain.
Computer Usage
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SAS, SQL (or similar) applications required.
  • Working knowledge of reporting tools (DOMO, Tableau or similar) preferred.
Education Expectations: 4 year degree or equivalent required; preference for M.S. in Operations Research, Supply Chain, Math, Statistics, or similar quantitative field.
Job Related Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience
Specific Experience: Strong problem solving experience and clear communication and presentation skills required.  Preference for project management experience and demand and/or supply planning experience in an advanced S&OP/Integrated Business Planning environment.
