Prepare and serve healthy meals for guests at Hyland Hills Ski Area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares and serves food products and beverages that are tasteful and pleasing to guests. Assists in the performance of a wide variety of maintenance functions including trash removal, cleaning, and stocking. Cleans and sanitizes food service area and equipment. Inventories supplies/products on hand at the end of each day in order to plan for meal preparation on subsequent days. Keeps appropriate staff promptly informed of problems or other issues related to the position. Performs other related duties as apparent or assigned.

Education and Experience
17 years minimum age, high school graduate or pursuing diploma
Ability to relate to peers and to children
Experience with cooking, food preparation, and/or the food service industry is preferred
Language Skills
Ability to read and understand operating, safety and procedure manuals, written instructions and product labeling, and complete various written reports
Communication Skills
Ability to communicate with park guests, supervisors, and co-workers in a positive, friendly manner both orally and in written form.  Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and Park District personnel.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's as well as the ability to convert and use fractions when dealing with measurements and recipes.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply emergency situational thinking and responses by applying a more complex learned response to the particular situation.  Ability to apply common sense thinking to resolve simple individual tasks and easy routine procedural problems by applying simple learned responses.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to work under limited supervision. Ability to communicate with people in normal and stressful situations.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and see, talk, and hear.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.  Applicants must be free of any physical condition that would adversely affect the performance of the duties of a first responder.
Work Environment
The employee regularly works with commercial food preparation equipment with related exposure to hot grease, grills, cookers, food warmers, beverage dispensers, refrigerators and freezers and a variety of electrical appliances with potential for exposure to electrical shock, cooking fumes and odors.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Selection Procedure

Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a background investigation including a criminal history search. Costs of the background will be paid for by Three Rivers Park District.
