The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a  Manager, Web, Digital, and Print Promotion position within the Opus College of Business.

The Manager of Web, Digital, Email and Print Promotion manages all promotional activities for key events and community outreach programs for the Opus College of Business. A member of the Corporate and External Relations group, the manager collaborates with colleagues within the university to design, format and place content for a variety of internal and external marketing, bulk email and publicity channels, ensuring a consistent brand at all times. The manager oversees the email system, with primary responsibility for list management (contact identification and updates,) and compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act. The manager also serves as a Website Super User, assisting internal clients (degree and non-degree programs/Centers and Institutes) with Web-page formatting and content management

Essential Functions:

  1. Implements the Web-based content strategy to drive enrollment in events and other community engagement programs, utilizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Designs layouts edits and maintains content on the OCB website (web/event pages and registration) and on digital signage (internal) using CMS systems and templates available via TERMINAL FOUR and other platforms. Positions event information on relevant social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) platforms and pushes content to partners/others for co-marketing when needed.
  2. Establishes email contact list management protocols. Regularly reviews lists to ensure accuracy. Oversees suppression, contact identification, updates, and CAN-SPAM (Do Not Contact/Unsubscribe/Etc.) Creates layouts, edits and assembles promotional materials (bulk email invites/newsletters/brochures/collateral) for various meetings and events. Utilizes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Publisher and other design software. Formats logos/photos, and creates graphics. Develops digital and print singage for all programs. Maintains a consistent brand at all times.
  3. Establishes the project plan for event/program publicity items, managing timelines and deliverables using UST’s project planning systems. Sets priorities and monitors progress to ensure client satisfaction. Coordinates workflow for key clients in the Opus College of Business including the Dean’s office, alumni, degree/non degree programs, community engagement, and Centers and Institutes. Provides event-related storytelling assistance, coordinating photography/asset collection, and developing articles/posts.
  4. Serves as a T4 Super User providing Web design and content management support for internal clients. Effectively works with the Director of Marketing and Web Initiatives and ITS (Informational Technology Services) for technical support as needed. Reviews, tracks and reports site metrics and registration statistics.
  5. Represents the Opus College of Business at programs and events. Supports other programs delivered by the Office of Corporate and External Relations, and completes special projects as directed by the Director of External Relations.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent and five (5) years of relevant web design experience to include graphic design and content management experience. Must be able to use HTML, CSS, Javascript and other web based platforms. An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge has been acquired may be substituted.

Knowledge of: Issues, trends and needs of higher education programs; effective written and oral communication methods; administrative principles and practices, including goal setting, program development, implementation and evaluation, and the supervision of employees; project management and analytical techniques; ability to plan, organize and implement a wide range of programs and projects relating to alumni relations; principles and practices of collaboration, motivating employees and working in a team environment; principles and practices of budget development and administration; computer applications related to the work (MS Office, web content management tools, graphic design, bulk email software, social media and online networking tools/sites); standard office practices and procedures, including filing and the operation of standard office equipment; record keeping principles and practices; correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation; techniques for understanding and effectively communicating with all individuals contacted in the course of duties; ability to work with diverse populations; ability to develop and supervise volunteers; principles and techniques of making effective oral presentations; principles and techniques of preparing effective written informational or educational materials.

Skill in: Designing, developing and administering special event and program publicity programs Web/digital/collateral/print); assessing needs and developing internal resources or utilizing external resources to meet these needs; developing effective work teams and motivating individuals to meet goals and objectives and provide customer services in the most cost-effective and efficient manner; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations; strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing; developing goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards; diagnosing and resolving organizational issues; managing relations with strategic partners and licensees; using initiative and independent judgment within general policy guidelines; preparing effective written informational and educational materials; using tact, discretion and prudence in dealing with those contacted in the course of the work; making effective oral presentations to large and small groups.
