DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCT OWNER - MARKETING MEASUREMENTThe Digital Media Product Owner for Marketing Measurement will serve as an in-house expert on measurement capabilities, marketing analytics, data across marketing channels, and technology related to measuring the various marketing channels. This is a key role on our growing Marketing Product Team and will advise Target on industry best practices, technologies, processes, and products.As a Product Owner - Marketing Measurement, you'll lead development of core measurement products, services, and tools. You'll define requirements and user flows, coordinate resources from other groups (technology services, data science, engineering, business intelligence, legal, etc.), and guide the team through key milestones. You'll also be responsible for identifying and tracking key performance indicators. The Product Owner represents the “voice of the customer” by maintaining and prioritizing the backlog to ensure that the team is working on stories that maximize business value and deliver necessary functionality to all customers.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accountable for development and health of measurement products, working in the product model and collaborating with key partners and stakeholder management for the product.
  • Provide leadership and oversee product strategy for marketing measurement - inclusive of digital and traditional channels, store and online, and all phases of Marketing.
  • Work closely with Marketing Strategy, Planning, Guest COE and Target Media Network to assist in the planning, optimization, and measurement of advertising campaigns.
  • Manage Marketing Measurement product offerings and strategy; develop new ways for Target and Target's vendor partners to measure the performance and return on investment of marketing campaigns, tactics, channels and new products.
  • Identify immediate and/or upcoming user needs, then work with the team to develop a product plan that addresses them.
  • Strategically evolve and grow existing products and services to constantly deliver a better business outcomes.
  • Gather product requirements, user flows, and documentation for projects in development.
  • Prioritize features and tasks for the product using internal tools, tracking and reviewing the product direction and current work frequently.
  • Manage collaboration and communication with other teams, both internal and external, to ensure teams have what they need and can work efficiently.
  • Partner with product, engineering, data science and agencies to ensure that measurement products are accurate and efficient.
  • Ensure stories clearly communicate the customer and stakeholder needs to meet key business objectives and strategies for the product.
  • Maintain and refine backlog: create user stories and acceptance criteria and prioritize all stories to ensure work focuses on those with maximum business value that align with product strategy.
  • Work in scrum team, ensuring the teams are aligned around similar goals and objectives and attending all scrum meetings.
  • Encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints.
  • Inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction.
  • Foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles.
  • Research and recommend new tools and products in the ad tech space that will improve team and department efficiency.
  • 6+ years in analytics or measurement along with digital media or marketing experience
  • 2+ years in product role or equivalent
  • Experience with marketing channels - inclusive of digital, traditional, video, and social
  • Understanding and expertise with big data, data warehousing, predictive modeling and data work flows
  • Experience with content management systems and ability to facilitate communication between business and tech teams
  • Experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Expertise in the ad tech ecosystem; experience with digital media ad tech and ad serving platforms
  • Highly proficient with technical concepts and able to articulate them to various groups across the organization
  • Education and/or background in data engineering
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Highly detailed oriented with excellent organization skills while managing multiple ongoing projects
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Bachelors degree required
