To greet park guests and large groups reserving pavilions/rental sites and provide information on park facilities and programs in a manner that will create a favorable image of the Park District while assuring the highest level of park guest service possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1.   Greets park guests and provides information on facilities and programs in a manner that will assure the highest possible level of guest service.
2.   Sells daily and annual parking permits, and where applicable, daily and annual user fees for special facilities such as golf courses and ski areas.
3.   Follows prescribed cash handling and record keeping procedures for all sales of food, beverage, daily and annual parking permits, daily and annual user fees, rental equipment fees and resale merchandise.
4.   Assures facility remains safe from hazards and maintains work area in a clean and safe manner.
5.   Prepares daily and monthly reports including merchandise, concession inventory control, and park use data.
6.   Rents recreation equipment to park guests assuring it is of appropriate size, in proper working condition, and that park guest is advised of any inherent risks involved in the rental; and where applicable, recommends lessons and/or training in the proper use of the equipment.
  • Assures proper safety standards have been met and appropriate personal protective equipment is issued.
7.   Greets guests of large groups reserving the pavilions or other rental sites at assigned location and provides information on guest use of facility.
8.   Maintains basic services at the Pavilion during events including adjusting the sound system and lighting, replacing garbage and recycling bags as they fill, replacing soap or paper products in bathroom facilities, and cleaning up minor spills.
9.   Monitors large group activities in relationship to other site activities of the day acts as liaison between staff and public involved in these site activities and the guests at the Pavilion.
10. Contacts park supervisor, maintenance, public safety, or program staff regarding resolution of any "day of" issues or requests involving the rental group.
11. Performs other related duties as apparent or assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are represen­tative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Language Skills
Ability to read and understand documents such as operating procedures, safety and technical manuals, guidelines and regulations.  Ability to write routine reports.  Ability to effectively present information to park guests.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to work with American units of money.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to anticipate needs of participants and provide appropriate instruction and assistance.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple written and verbal instructions.
Certificates and Registrations
When assigned to rental operations, must be able to obtain binding certification from manufacturer of inventoried ski and snowboard equipment.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to be diplomatic and pleasant under stress conditions. Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete a variety of work tasks.  Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with park guests, organizations, and Park District employees. 
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job class, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computers and cash registers, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, balance, stoop, crouch, twist, and bend.  The employee also must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The employee regularly works with cash, a cash register, and other administrative materials.  The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions with regular exposure to cold, often below zero degrees and low wind chill.  The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Selection Procedure
A fully completed Three Rivers Park District Online Application must be received by Human Resources. This position is open until filled. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of relevant experience and training. A top group of applicants will be invited to participate in further job screening. 
Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a background investigation including a criminal history search. Costs of the background will be paid for by Three Rivers Park District.
