POSITION:       Upward Bound Academic Coach


The Academic Coach will provide one-on-one academic guidance, support, and monitoring to ensure high school student success for the Upward Bound program at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. The position provides support to students and program staff through development of personal education plans and acting liaison to local high schools. The primary objective of the Upward Bound program is to prepare students for successful completion of high school and entrance into college. Reporting to the Upward Bound Director, this important campus position includes minimal operational support through communication, report, and budget documentation.

Bachelor’s degree in Education or another related field
Experience working with high school students


Successful experience working with low-income and potentially first generation students
Demonstrated skills in motivating students academically
TRIO experience
