Web Communications Strategist (Information Officer 2)
Winona State University invites applications for the position of Web Communications Strategist (Information Officer 2). The primary responsibility of the Web Communications Strategist is to produce high-quality web content—writing, editing, and creating and selecting visual elements with the goal of building awareness, clearly presenting information, and connecting students to campus services. Additionally, the Web Communications Strategist will develop content and communications strategies that help student service departments communicate effectively with prospective and current students, supporting recruitment and retention efforts, and meeting and exceeding student needs; to develop and implement standards and best practices that ensure WSU’s web and social sites are accessible, relevant and user-friendly for current and prospective students; and to manage and organize photos, blogs and other relevant content that meets student communication needs on the web and in other platforms.
Minimum qualifications for this position are a bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Mass Communications, New Media or related field; or an equivalent combination of demonstrable work experience and education and at least 2 years of recent experience in digital marketing, particularly in web content copywriting, web editing, web quality improvement, user experience, and/or web content creation and management.
