The Historic St. James Hotel is seeking an Upscale Casual Dining Sous Chef who is talented and seasoned. The successful candidate must have knowledge of scratch kitchens, exceptional leadership and team building abilities. The Sous Chef will be the leader of our culinary staff and is expected to maintain excellent food quality as well as consistently implement creative new menu items to highlight fresh local ingredients. The Sous Chef will be responsible for all culinary and back of the house personnel. Outstanding leadership and communication abilities are essential. Responsibilities will also include selecting, training and coaching the culinary staff. Ensuring outstanding food quality and presentation will be a top priority of our Sous Chef. Maintaining an organized and sanitary kitchen. Administrative functions such as inventory control, product ordering and culinary labor cost control will be in the hands of this position. Ensuring seamless kitchen service on a consistent basis will be expected.
