  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Target's Hybrid Cloud Platform product
  • Drive decision making and consistency across Target Cloud Platform domains and - Infrastructure, Visualization & Reporting, Automation, Continuous Delivery and On-Boarding - to ensure their products and capabilities align with actual developer needs and pain points
  • Partner with Engineering Managers and other lead engineers to align and deliver the Target Cloud Platform
  • Work closely with application teams looking to adopt and migrate to cloud to ensure they are well-architected and suited for cloud deployment, and that their full-stack is fully automated, tested, and instrumented
  • Coach and mentor development teams on usage and adoption of our Target Cloud Platform products, and overall Microservices, infrastructure as code, and automation best-practices
  • Design and build overall Target Cloud Platform capabilities to enable faster innovation, accelerate time-to-market for all of our consumer experiences, and deliver industry leading omni-channel experiences
  • Collaborate across platform/product teams to drive innovation and improvements to our platform and how we deliver applications and experiences to the cloud
  • Mentor junior and senior engineers on our team
The following skills and experience are preferred and will be deeply leveraged:
  • Experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring/telemetry, logging, reporting/dashboarding, and continuous delivery technologies
  • Experience in building high-performance infrastructures that are scalable and resilient
  • Ability create clear and detailed technical diagrams and documentation
  • Ability to roll up your sleeves and implement alongside the other engineers on our team
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure-as-a-service platforms: AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, Soft Layer, OpenStack, etc.…
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages: Ruby, Go, Python, Perl, bash, ksh
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as: Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Experience with development using GitHub
  • Experience with test-driven development frameworks for infrastructure code
  • Experience with orchestration template technologies such as: OpenStack Heat, AWS Cloud Formation, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, and Hashicorp Terraform
  • Experience with open-source telemetry solutions such as: Sensu, Graphite, Influxdb,
  • Experience with open-source logging and reporting solutions such as: Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana/Grafana
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment technologies such as: Jenkins CI, and Artifactory
  • Experience with containers and container scheduling and management platforms such as: Docker, rkt, Mesos, or Kubernettes
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 years total work experience
  • Passion for new and evolving technologies and willing to push their application throughout the company
  • Ability to communicate easily with both engineers and management
  • Personal or professional experience contributing to open source projects
  • Highly productive coder; self-starter and self-motivated
  • Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
  • Continuous learner who stays current with new and evolving technologies
