- Hire a new team to define disciplines and strategies to stand-up a new corporate initiative with cross-enterprise scope
- Lead the development of the strategy, roadmap, building of new capabilities and best practices in partnership with TSS and Target Packaging Overseas (TPO) to generate value from supply base
- Define strategy to create visibility to chain of custody for packaging materials and define supply chain requirements to support corporate sustainability goals
- Understand and lead requirements definition across a complex and robust capability matrix
- Drive category analysis and strategy to prioritize work on the highest value opportunities in partnership with TSS leadership
- Lead evaluation and optimization of over +500 of current suppliers to build a future supplier matrix leading to best-in-class strategic partnerships, optimization of specifications and best-in-industry costs
- Continuous review and assessment of risk associated with supplier selection and production performance
- Develop benchmarks, KPIs and scorecards
- Lead packaging negotiations through supplier consolidation and optimization of packaging specifications in partnership with Packaging Engineer and global team
- Provide leadership over the efforts of headquarter and global teams through clear direction and feedback, which will include up to two domestic and three international direct reports
- Sets high expectations, follows through on commitments and holds team members accountable to deliver on expectations
- Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in Retail with a strong track record in direct negotiations with international suppliers and ongoing value creation
- A strong leader with a strategic mindset, excellent change management and problem solving skills with the ability to drive organizational transformation
- Demonstrated success building new operational capabilities and managing through ambiguity
- Business process discovery and definition within a global business environment
- Strong understanding of packaging supply chain and packaging/product development and production processes
- Very strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to use data to influence critical business decisions and priorities
- Ability to communicate and influence officer-level stakeholders (VP+)
- Experience managing competing priorities and negotiating solutions between cross-enterprise leaders
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with emphasis on ability to gain consensus and with internal and external partners (suppliers, vendors, consultants)
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment with partner peers (Director of Sourcing, Director PD&D, Director of Merchandising) and executive stakeholder groups
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel/financial analysis and PowerPoint
- Strong business acumen with P&L management experience
- Exposure to demand planning / forecasting
