The Department of Occupational Therapy Assistant invites applicants for a full time rolling Assistant Professor Faculty position beginning in May 2017, pending budget approval. Rank and salary commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities: The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the distance track of the St. Catherine University Occupational Therapy Assistant Program will be responsible for establishing, managing, and administrating Level I and Level II fieldwork components for occupational therapy assistant students. This includes establishing new fieldwork sites, maintaining and documenting regular contact with fieldwork sites, serving as a liaison between academic faculty and fieldwork educators, conducting fieldwork seminars with students in an online format, and participating in fieldwork related committee work within the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health and the Occupational Therapy Department. Fieldwork sites may be located in a number of different states; AFWC must be willing to travel to establish new fieldwork sites and maintain communication across sites and with the University. The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the distance track collaborates with the team of Academic Fieldwork Coordinators, and reports to the Fieldwork Director for the OTA Program.
The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator must demonstrate the commitment to mission, philosophy, goals and priorities of the OT Department and St. Catherine University, abide by the AOTA Code of Ethics and follow University policies stated in the St. Catherine University catalog and the faculty and student handbooks. Teaching and service expectations and responsibilities are related to the primary needs of the online track of the OTA program.
A minimum of a Master's degree is required. A minimum of 5 years clinical practice is required with demonstrated knowledge of current occupational therapy practice. A minimum of three years of college level teaching experience is preferred, along with experience with online teaching. Preference will also be given to applicants with a COTA certificate. Must be eligible for licensure in your home state and California with NBCOT certification.
