This position monitors and controls the development and processing of programs to ensure the highest levels of service and system availability are attained. Establishes production runs, updates procedural documentation and maintains data files. Assists with more complex code creation, job setup, performs problem identification, escalation and resolution. Communicates status of operations to allow for immediate response to service disruptions.


  • Essential Position Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and support application (development and support)
    • 2+ years of IS work experience in production support, programming or development
    • High / mid level of Microsoft SQL knowledge 
    • Average experience with XML, and TFS (or similar)
    • Demonstrate an understanding of business and technical requirements for each assigned project
    • Demonstrate an understanding of system performance expectations for application being developed
    • Work as part of a project team to meet or exceed customer expectations
    • Collaborate with Business Analysts, developers, and process owners to identify opportunities, define business requirements and assist in designing and implementing solutions to maximize efficiency
    • Produce code to meet standards for each assigned task
    • Create unit test plans and test summary
    • Perform unit testing
    • Follow and demonstrate an understanding of adopted processes/methodologies
    • Maintain and support applications as needed
    • Update production run specifications
    • Document steps throughout production processing
    • Participate in project meetings
    • Identify changes to tasks as they occur and notify appropriate team members
    • Respond to and work with appropriate team members to resolve reported issues
    • Work with team members to create accurate task estimates
    • Follow schedules to meet task deadlines
    • May lead projects of moderate complexity
    • May coach more junior technical staff
    • Maintain legacy applications

    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills required
    • Exposure to databases and file structures
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Solid time management skills and ability to multi-task
    • Strong troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to work independently and in team/collaborative environment

    Essential Job Requirements:

    • Report to work promptly when scheduled
    • Be able to work under supervision and accept feedback 
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Relate effectively and work respectfully with diverse work groups
    • Ability to consistently perform well during times of increased work load
    • Set and meet deadlines
    • Manage multiple job functions simultaneously
    • Other duties as needed

    Reporting to this position:  No direct reports

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hour periods of time
    • Ability to look at a computer monitor, utilize a keyboard and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day
    • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as necessary
