BILLING AND ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST SENIOR
This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the Billing functions under UCare for Seniors, UCare's Medicare Risk product, Senior Select and UCare Choices/Fairview Choices - UCare's Exchange product. Including, analyze the monthly aging report, prepare manual deposits and validate cash application for all lines of business; support Medicare Customer Service department, and review/update CMS demographic discrepancies. ·Maintain a production and quality level of 99% or better in Billing cash functions and a quality level of 95% or better in other Billing functions.
·Analyze the monthly aging reports to identify members that have delinquent premium. Determine appropriate correspondence required by Chapter Two of the CMS Medicare Managed Care Manual and UCare's identified process for Exchange products. Create and mail required member correspondence. Validate correct proposed termiation notice is mailed to the correct members as well as termination submitted to CMS at the proper time each month. ·Identify member numbers and organize types of cash mailed or brought directly to UCare; preparing and scanning bank deposits into our banking system across all lines of business.
·Support the Customer Service department in researching, resolving and responding to complex premium billing issues, payment issues and dual eligible issues. · Validate the cash posting balances with the daily bank deposit log. Ensure all member payments received have been properly applied to members invoice and that payments balance with the bank deposit.
·Prepare member statements as requested by members to ensure accuracy of members balance in UCare's core operating system. ·Review and update CMS demographic discrepancies identified in the compare of the monthly MMR and data from UCare's eligibility preprocessing system. Ensuring CMS stays in compliance with Chapter 2 of the CMS Medicare Managed Care Manual.
·Create and maintain clear step by step processes for each function. ·Support the process of entering member premium payments into UCare's core operating system and post to member accounts in an accurately within 72 hours of receipt from the bank. Collaborate with the bank to resolve problems or errors resulting from lock box information.
·Support cash application clean up across all lines of business ·Maintain an understanding of the UCare's core operating computer system and other systems used in the day to day operations in the Billing Department.
·Maintain an understanding of Medicare and the specific components of UCare for Seniors and SeniorSelect. · Assist in the departmental reporting functions from Membership Accounting to other departments within UCare, as needed.
·Other projects and duties as assigned.
Two year degree or certificate in Business or Accounting preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Three years of experience with accounts receivable processing and reconciliation. Experience with data entry and accounting/billing principles. Intermediate Excel and Word skills.
