Position Summary Information Position Responsibilities

St. Catherine University, St. Paul, invites applications for a full-time Senior Admission Counselor in the College for Adult Admissions office. The qualified candidate will represent St. Catherine University to prospective students and assist the Admissions team in reaching its recruitment goals. The Senior Admission Counselor is responsible for advising, recruiting and managing the admission procedures for new students into a selected portfolio of programs in the College for Adults. (S)he will serve as a member of the College for Adults admissions team. Working with the Director, the Senior Admissions Counselor also contributes to a variety of tasks related to the effective operation of the College for Adults admissions office and on an as needed basis, manage the advising and admission procedures for the graduate programs.

Responsibilities:
• Manage admission processes for the College for Adults programs
• Provide students with information and access to program and degree opportunities through individual contact, marketing and outreach activities that clearly articulate the complexities of admissions procedures, prerequisite requirements, transfer-of-credit and options for enrollment
• Provide individual and group academic advising to students
• Make key decisions, with a high level of independence, related to the admission of students
• Utilize model-advising practices that enhance student learning
• Work in collaborative decision making with all member of the admissions team
• Provide support for the director in her/his administrative duties in the College of Adults Admissions office

Position Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required with minimum of two years professional experience in admissions, academic advising or related work in higher education, substantial sales or recruitment experience
• Demonstrated skills in process planning, teamwork, program administration and organization
• Abilities to track and managed highly detailed data and procedures
• Strong demonstration of interpersonal and advising skills
• Experience working with diverse student populations and an understanding of cross-cultural issues
• Familiarity with needs and services for students with disabilities and different learning styles
• Ability to understand and explain complex University, academic and curricular policies to students
• Ability to work with all types of people in a sensitive yet effective manner
• The incumbent must have the ability to respond respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, in a manner that affirms the worth and preserves the dignity of individuals, families and communities
