Ranked Faculty - Department of Nutrition and Exercise Science
The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Sciences invites applicants for full-time 9-month, tenure-track faculty appointment considered commensurate with qualifications as Director of Nutrition and Dietetics. Our department offers several undergraduate majors, including a flexible nutrition science program and an accredited didactic program in dietetics (DPD). This appointment begins fall of 2017(pending budget approval). Salary commensurate with education and experience.
We are seeking a thought-leader with a desire to grow our vision for nutrition at St. Catherine University. This position offers excellent opportunities to shape and enrich our programs and develop new programs (e.g. graduate degree in nutrition and/or a dietetic internship). We appreciate that nutrition is an ever-changing field and seek a candidate interested in adding innovative elements to our curriculums, with specific emphasis placed on interprofessional collaborations. Our department values the opportunities that come along with small class sizes and getting to know each of our students.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include effective and visionary leadership for nutrition programming, including new program development, student recruitment, and policy/procedure management. The candidate will manage all ACEND-related requirements in compliance with the 2017 standards. The successful candidate will teach and develop a variety of nutrition courses and is expected to participate in scholarship-related activities and campus service.
An earned master's degree in nutrition, dietetics or closely related field, (earned doctorate or ABD with interest in completion preferred) along with current certification as a registered dietitian (RD/RDN). Three years of experience in higher education with evidence of achievements in teaching, scholarship, and service is required. Commitment to conducting, publishing, and presenting research at professional meetings should be evident in past experiences. Evidence of an interprofessional approach to teaching, research, and education is desired. Strong preference will be given to candidates who possess administrative and leadership experiences within ACEND or other accrediting bodies.
