Certified Medical Assistant
The Health and Wellness Clinic at Saint Catherine University seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care to students in an outpatient setting. The Health and Wellness Clinic provides a comprehensive array of health and wellness services that are responsive to the needs of an all- women's college population. This position is approximately 16 hours per week during academic year (end of August thru May). This position reports to the Director of the Health and Wellness Clinic.

Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant's primary function within the legal scope of practice of this position is assisting the SCU health providers (MD, PA, NP, and RN) to make efficient use of their clinic time by maintaining smooth patient flow. This is accomplished by managing the front desk, answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, checking patients in to clinic, rooming patients in the exam rooms at the time of their appointment, taking accurate vital signs, conducting laboratory procedures as ordered by the medical provider, administering vaccinations, keeping the exam rooms clean and stocked with medical supplies the provider may need appropriate to that examination.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Current/valid CMA certification required, as well as graduation from an accredited CMA program.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Previous experience in an outpatient clinical setting required, experience in college health preferred.
• Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Applicant must also possess good phone triage skills as well as problem solving skills.
Must be able to work well independently, as well as function as a member of the Health and Wellness team.
