Position Summary Information Position Responsibilities

The Theology Department at St. Catherine University invites applicants for a . full-time, benefit eligible, 0.75 FTE Program Specialist for the grant funded program Encuentro: St. Catherine University Theology Institute. This position is responsible for management and development of logistics and systems related to program development and office flow for the Encuentro Grant from the Lilly Foundation. The Program Specialist will focus primarily on the development of program relations and functions. This position is grant funded and will continue through December of 2019.

• Process payments, execute monthly budget reconciliations, oversee mailings, develop project templates, develop program timelines, maintain email account, organize & purchase supplies
• Manage website and social media maintenance; resolve technical problems; communicate with appropriate staff
• Develop and maintain bilingual (Spanish and English) written publicity and marketing materials (flyers, web pages, posters, banner, camp swag); distribute appropriate materials to relevant program constituents, including Spanish-speaking parents and partners
• Event coordinator including: 3 formation days, end-of-year celebration event, on-going formation opportunities, and week-long summer institute; resolve any space or logistics issues that arise
• Research, develop, coordinate, and manage ongoing enrichment events and activities for youth and mentors,
• Oversee recruitment activities: design and monitor participant applications and registration materials, orchestrate public recruitment events in collaboration with mentors and sponsoring partners, oversee applicant review and acceptance process, assist with development of new partnerships
• Supervise the social media student worker and resident assistant student workers
• Caseload Management & Oversight: Provide regular and on-going check-ins with high school girls, their parents (in Spanish and English as necessary), and the mentors with the aim of increasing participant retention; resolve issues for participants on a case-by-case basis related to communications, transport, participation, and behavior
• Design, develop, and execute logistics and programming for the Meet-the-Mentors Parent Day

Position Qualifications

• B.A. or equivalent required, preferably in theology or youth development; a minimum of 2 years' experience working in youth ministry, or non-profit youth development is required
• Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal communications required
• Prior significant experience working with high school youth, event planning and office management required
• Successful candidate will be an organized, problem solving, critical thinker with attention to details; must have excellent written and verbal skills, emotional maturity, be personable and confident with a passion for youth development; computer experience (social media, websites, database systems, word, publisher) is also necessary
