DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS

The City of Blaine is seeking a service oriented, knowledgeable & experienced individual as the next Director of Public Works. This position will oversee a multi-division department to provide dependable, cost effective, high quality public works services to our customers. The Director of Public Works will provide leadership in the planning, coordinating, directing, communicating & evaluating of a comprehensive program including the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, renewal and replacement of the city's streets, parks, utilities, storm water management, & maintenance & replacement of the city's vehicle equipment fleet. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Public Works Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Civil Engineering or related field; 8 years of experience in public works including 3 years managing public works functions; &, 5 years supervisory experience in municipal services administration. Prefers a Master's degree in Public Works Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field; Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota or the ability to obtain within 11 months of employment; and, 5 years supervisory experience including three 3 years as a Public Works Director. Salary Range: $122,097 to $144,434 DOQ.
