Ranked Faculty - Department of Economics
The Department of Economics in the School of Humanities, Arts and Sciences at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position beginning fall 2017, pending budget approval. Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities: The selected candidate is expected to have responsibilities in teaching, research and service. Currently, the teaching load is six sections (24 credits) per academic year. Applicants from all fields are welcome and should expect to teach broadly across introductory and upper level courses. The creation of knowledge in the discipline resulting in its dissemination through the publication of peer-reviewed articles is expected. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to university service. The selected candidate will be responsible for advising undergraduate students and is expected to engage in service activities with colleagues, the department, school, campus, community and professional organizations. The department comprises diverse faculty members, reflecting our diverse student body. We also offer a wide array of majors, including Economics, International Business and Economics, Financial Economics, and Women and International Development, and have just inaugurated a non-profit minor. Applicants should be prepared to work collaboratively to support students who are passionate about social justice and plan to use their training to lead and influence. Applicants should demonstrate evidence of a commitment to excellence in research and teaching.
Required Qualifications:: successful applicants should have a Ph.D. (in Economics, Public Policy, Finance or related field) by the beginning of September, 2017.
