BENEFITS CONFIGURATION ANALYST

Position Description

This position is responsible to translate UCare's business requirements into functional requirements in order to configure AMISYS to support benefit administration, authorization requirements and claims adjudication.  Analyze new business plans and changes to existing business plans in order to establish the appropriate benefit structure needed. Works with other departments to ensure smooth implementation of benefits, meeting all agreed to deadlines.  Obtain and maintain in-depth working knowledge of the claims system, configuration and the Amisys tables in order to extract data to perform analysis of and updates to Amisys configuration.  Serve as primary contact for questions or processing issues related to Amisys configuration.   Investigate and resolve processing issues and assists other departments in understanding Amisys configuration.

·Analyze, configure, test, implement and maintain AMISYS modules to support changes in benefit policies and procedures ensuring timely maintenance and updates of configuration. 

·Test and configure new AMISYS releases and modules and related software products.

·Create and document functional designs for benefits, authorizations and/or projects to ensure accuracy of configuration completed.

·Research and respond to Service Forms in a prompt and timely manner and build configuration in Amisys as needed.  

·Recommend and assist in drafting new and updated procedures to maximize the use of AMISYS and improve efficiency.

·Maintain pertinent departmental documentation on assigned projects and determine most effective methods to accomplish project goals.  Keep Benefits Configuration Manager informed of issues and progress on projects.

·Participate on internal and external committees and user groups in collaboration with manager.  Keep manager informed of changes that will impact UCare.  Research and recommend methods to improve or implement necessary changes in a prompt and efficient manner.

·Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree preferred; demonstrated experience in a health care environment performing system configuration or analysis/support of claim adjudication may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Three years of experience in administration of health care benefits, polices and providing configuration support on Amisys, Facets, Metavance, or a similar system in a managed health care environment.  Must possess working knowledge of claims processing, system development and testing experience. 

Preferred Experience

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) is a plus.
