Meets with customers to discuss personal financial needs and recommends ways in which the bank can serve those needs. Offers and sells a full range of banking services, including opening new accounts, DDA, Savings, CD’s, IRAs, and safe deposits boxes. Provides service to those seeking all types of consumer/installment loans and refers clients to other divisions as needed to meet needs of customers. Emphasis is on sales and quality customer service. Regularly reviews account relationships and contacts clients to further deepen the scope and profitability of the overall relationship. Duties include occasional back-up to the teller-line. Assists with opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Promotes bank products and services by recognizing and understanding customer needs and by gathering information about the customer’s businesses and activities. Knowledgeable and proficient in explaining, selling and administering Bank products. Suggests use and benefits of bank services and products to customers.
- Performs and manages customer services for products such as safe deposit boxes, ATM and debit cards, notary services, wire transfers and stop payments.
- Maintains customer accounts by performing account reconciliation, resolving account discrepancies, handling overdrafts, change of ownership, addresses and names, account closings, and other problems to ensure quality customer service.
- Generates new consumer loans by providing consumer lending services: interviews customers, accepts applications, closes loans with appropriate documentation, and conducts loan follow-up and collection if necessary.
Requires associates degree or higher in finance or business field plus minimum 3 years recent banking experience in a customer service/new accounts and consumer lender capacity or as a personal/universall banker with lending authority, or equivalent experience to meet these qualifications. Licensed under the SAFE Act.
