The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for an Evening Circulation Supervisor position within the Libraries Department.

This position will staff the downtown Minneapolis campus location 25 hours per week, and will work primarily evening shifts.

This position exists to provide high-quality access to library resources and spaces for students, faculty and staff to do group and individual scholarly work. The Libraries’ circulation staff is responsible for opening and closing the library, assisting library users, implementing and interpreting library policies, supervising student workers, maintaining the library’s patron and inventory database, maintaining and circulating the library’s collections, and providing backup for the library's reference and technology staff.

The Keffer Library is a highly collaborative and service oriented work environment. The ability to maintain effective relationships with diverse constituencies with a wide spectrum of abilities and experiences is essential. 

This is a part-time, benefits eligible position. Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or the equivalent and three years of related library experience.

Preferred qualifications: Related library experience in circulation or access services in an academic library. Associate or BA degree or equivalent.

Special skills/knowledge/abilities:

Knowledge of:  administrative and clerical procedures and systems; principles and practices of library services; automated library information systems and their use and operation, especially in the areas of circulation, reserves and resource sharing; effective student working training and supervision.

Must be able to  use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines; organize own work, setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines; complete multiple tasks and deal with constant interruptions;

An ideal candidate has a strong service orientation and must be able to employ strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a user-focused commitment. The ability to maintain effective relationships with diverse constituencies is essential.
