Position Description

This position is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communications - across all channels and audiences - that meet business and organizational goals. You will work with business units across the organization to ensure all Medicare touchpoints articulate the UCare brand. You will assist with writing member communications and branding new offerings for Medicare open enrollment. You will facilitate accurate, high-quality and timely delivery of open enrollment materials in coordination with regulatory requirements, including editorial coordination for National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and Medicare STARS communications.

·Provide oversight and direction for developing, tracking and delivering high-quality, accurate and timely Medicare member and marketing communications. Work with Government Relations staff to ensure compliance with Medicare Marketing Guidelines and required deadlines.

·Coordinate the writing, development, health literacy and production of marketing and member materials related to UCare's Medicare products.

·Facilitate content enhancements to the website reflecting Medicare plan changes. 

·Serve as an editorial resource and consultant to other departments on communications projects and work in a cross-functional or collaborative function with other areas of the organization and within the team.

·Guide editorial development of specific Medicare quality improvement communications.

·Serve as brand steward, ensuring consistent messaging and UCare "voice" and "tone" in communications.

·Adhere to the required member material process mapping system, and fulfill business owner and marketing communications roles as outlined in the process.

·Ensure Medicare marketing and member materials are accurate and produced in time for annual election periods and strategic member retention outreach.

·Collaborate with corporate strategy and quality management departments to develop and maintain member and prospective member communications to meet National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation requirements and elements.

·Serve as back-up on new clinical services, quality management and health promotion programs which are beyond the capacity of current staff.

·Other projects and duties as assigned.


Bachelor's or advanced degree in communications-related field preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree. 

Required Experience

Three or more years of corporate or non-profit marketing communications experience.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office.  Two or more years of project management experience.

Preferred Experience

Health care communications, social media, and media production experience. Experience working in a government-regulated industry a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint and PowerPoint desired.
