ENTERPRISE DATA SERVICES MANAGER

Position Description

This position is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, daily operation, procedures, integrity and security of UCare's Enterprise Data, Business Intelligence and ETL tools, such as Informatica and Data Services. This is a strategic and operational leadership role that is a critical component of UCare's Data Strategy. This role partners with senior leaders across UCare to deliver innovative Business Intelligence solutions for the organization. This role will develop processes for data governance, data management, data quality, data conversion, data architecture and data security. Management of the Data Services team and collaboration with other enterprise leadership while developing and maintain the strategic roadmap for Enterprise Data Services, collaborating with business and IT partners to ensure that the roadmap creates business value with technically sound solutions and seeking out opportunities to apply innovations to customer needs.

·Establish and lead the Enterprise Data Services organization supporting the execution for the Enterprise Data Strategy.

·Collaborate with the Data Governance organization including functional leaders, data owners, and data stewards to support the delivery of enterprise data assests ensuring quality, timeliness and suitability for business operations.

·Design an Enterprise Data Strategy including the program, governance and roadmap.

·Communicate the Enterprise Data Strategy in alignment with business strategy serving as a MDM thought leader.

·Understand Enterprise Data needs and lead cross-functional teams to develop innovative and meaningful Business Intelligence solutions.

·Oversee implementation of Business Intelligence and ETL solutions across multiple projects, providing direction to the Enterprise Data Services team during project delivery and ensuring implementations support technology and business roadmaps.

·Lead a team consisting of Data Architects, Software Engineers, DBAs, and BI Reporting Engineersthat are dedicated to providing Business Intelligence solutions that enable and support all levels of the organization.

·Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring and training to develop and encourage employee performance. Meet with staff on a timely basis for the purpose of conducting performance evaluation and providing feedback.

·Design, implementing and drive the execution of processes, policies, standards, and KPIs for enterprise master data ensuring global alignment and consistency.

·Build relationship and trust with peers, business partners, and team staff members.

·Define roles and responsibilities. Ensure team members understand their jobs and how performance will be measured. Evaluate employee performance and provide regular feedback. Reward, coach and discipline staff in a fair and consistent manner.

·Provide financial oversight for owned goods and services. This includes management of operating expense tied to contract labor, maintenance and licensing, as well as demand management and capacity planning for software products.

·Ensure budgetary goals are met across all accounting categories (e.g., licensing and maintenance, hosted services, non-capitalized hardware and software, etc.).

·Keep current with the latest technologies.

·Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

 

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.  Required Experience

Eight years of experience within a software applications development organization or similar technology work environment required. Functional expertise and leadership experience across complex and large, data driven businesses.  Knowledge of industry best practices and standards to actively promote the effective and efficient use of Business Intelligence solutions in order to meet management objectives.  Demonstrated ability to drive a large scale change and to act as a positive disruptor that can view opportunities versus barriers.  Experience in working with senior leaders in both business and Information Technology to anticipate, interpret and challenge thinking when appropriate in order to align organizational goals and resources.  Experience in leading change and building teams.

Preferred Experience

Health care experience.  ITIL Certification
