Humera has multiple openings for a Bilingual (English & Spanish) Patient Access Specialist with our client in Minneapolis. Our client is a recognized system of primary care clinics located throughout the twin cities. The candidate in this position will ensure patients receive the best healthcare experience possible. This is a long-term, contract opportunity!
Duties:
  • Answer phone calls from patients
  • Obtains current patient information from established and new patients
  • Accurately enters/updates patient information into practice management system
  • Assists patients with completion of paperwork when necessary
  • Accurately pre-screens medical records
  • Schedules appointments; Identifies patients by date of birth and name in computer system; Schedules and re-schedules appointments as needed
  • Routinely demonstrates superior customer service skills (i.e. Answers telephone in a timely and polite manner, communicates with customers in a courteous, professional, cooperative and mature manner, etc.)
  • Protects/observes patient confidentiality per policies and procedures
  • Translates as needed

Requirements:
  • Call center experience and/or experience working in a medical setting
  • Must have medical experience with call handling skills
    Additionally, must have strong skills in the following areas:
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Strong listening skills
  • Knowledge of insurance
  • Able to multi task
  • Strong computer and navigation skills
  • Punctual
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to remain focused in a repetitive work environment
