Humera is seeking an Administrative/Medical Records Assistant. This is a contract only position. This person will be supporting the HEDIS audit. The ideal candidate has experience working with confidential Medical Records and/or Audits, and is very comfortable doing electronic and hard copy filing.
Position Overview:
    Medical Records:
    Any clinic that will not receive an on-site visit from one of the nurse reviewers will need to mail or fax in their medical records.
    Approximately 2,000 faxes or mailed-in records are received during the audit. Once received, the Administrative/Medical Records Assistant will be responsible for the following activities:
  • Mailed-in records must be scanned in and saved onto the clients drive (you will be standing at a scanner for up to 4 hours a day)
  • Fax records must be saved onto the clients drive via Rightfax
  • Fax records must be reviewed to make sure all pages are included and readable. If some are missing, this person will be responsible for calling the clinic to get a new fax record
  • CD or flash drive records will need to be encrypted and downloaded onto the clients drive

    Invoicing:
    The Administrative/Medical Records Assistant is also responsible for helping with bill payments
  • All bills will be printed and given to the manager, who will decide if they are reimbursable requests
  • For non-reimbursable requests, the Administrative Assistant will send a non-payment letter
  • For reimbursable requests, they will create an invoice, get signatures from the manager and send it over to Finance for payment

    Other duties:
  • Take some incoming call from clinics
  • Make labels or print on envelopes
  • Hard-copy filing


Requirements:
  • Trustworthy, as this person will be dealing with very confidential PHI (protected health information) documents
  • Proficient in Outlook, shared drives, and Rightfax
  • Self-motivated
  • Works independently
  • Willing to ask questions
  • Positive attitude

Schedule:
    Mon- Fri
    7:00am- 4:00pm OR 7:30am- 4:30pm
