Humera is seeking candidates for an Accounting II role with our client in St. Paul, MN.
This position will focus on grant reporting, fund accounting, or project accounting. Our client is looking for someone who has been an accountant in the Healthcare or Non-Profit industry.

This position is responsible to perform various accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial transaction for the organization.
This will include account reconciliations, grant accounting / reporting, actual to budget analysis, general ledger maintenance, special requests for data and reporting, budgeting and fixed assets.
Other areas include backup for payroll and accounts payable to support the smooth financial operations and stability. Special projects may include, for example, support for systems integration, process improvement, and creating or updating reports.

The role of accounting and finance is to assure the efficient and ethical use of all resources received in order to fulfill the organization's mission of helping individuals with mental illness lead quality lives; monitor and assure compliance with business and financial laws, regulations and guidelines; and report financial results of Operations for quality management of services and transparency.
  • Ability to create and manage balance sheet account reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Knowledge of general ledger preparation and review
  • Prior experience with grant/fund accounting and grant request preparation and reporting
  • Previous experience with maintaining the fixed asset listing and recording depreciation expense
  • Intermediate level experience with Excel and the ability to learn and use various accounting computer software
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to give attention to financial detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain financial information to staff and clients
  • Organizational skills including the ability to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Willingness to work independently and as a part of the accounting team, to share information and work collaboratively
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations to meet requirements in preparation for the annual audit
  • Provide business support to the controller, CFO and others to ensure efficient operations within the accounting department
  • Complete grant reporting to ensure compliance with payer requirements
  • Prepare for the annual audit and verify accuracy of the financial reports

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 4-6 years experience
  • Non - profit accounting preferred
  • Release and satisfaction of temp restricted funds
  • A valid MN Class ‘D' Driver's License, reliable vehicle, satisfactory driving record and necessary insurance
  • Must not be actively receiving services from our client and must not have received services within the last two years
