Humera is seeking an experienced Litigation/ Legal Administrative Assistant to work with our client in Downtown Minneapolis, MN. Our client is an is an Fortune 100 law firm with offices located throughout the U.S., and offices in Asia and the UK.

They are looking for a qualified Legal Admin for their Labor and Employment Litigation practice in a highly professional environment which inspires teamwork and collaboration.

This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients. You will be working with our attorneys who litigate matters at every level of the state and federal court systems.

This position provides support in a very fast paced, always changing environment. This is a long term contract opportunity.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a hands-on, positive, "can-do" approach with a desire to think creatively to identify and implement proactive solutions. As a key member of multiple case teams, you will interact with others to deliver outstanding client service with measurable results. Specifically, you will perform the following accountabilities within our team-centered environment:

  • Prepare, assemble and file documents electronically through Electronically Case Files (CM/ECF) for a variety of district, state and appellate courts
  • Preparation of legal documents/correspondence
  • Proactively ensure legal team is prepared with necessary materials for meetings and depositions
  • Open, review and direct mail
  • Schedule meetings, conference calls, depositions, court hearings and make travel arrangements
  • Ability to manage multiple calendars including docketing of court deadlines
  • Heavy client contact, contact with opposing counsel, witnesses and court personnel
  • Maintain files, profile electronic files and documents, and process legal documents, according to established best practices guidelines
  • Scanning, photocopying, indexing and filing of paper and electronic documents, including pleadings and correspondence
  • Process expense reports, disbursements, timesheets, and other administrative paperwork
  • Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals, as well as, the ability to work independently


Requirements:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of previous legal secretarial experience; Labor and Employment Litigation experience strongly preferred
  • ECF knowledge and experience on both state and federal levels
  • Excellent overall written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and proficient word processing skills
  • Professional demeanor and reliability a must
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make decisions, facilitate and manage deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate strong prioritization skills and be adaptable to change
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals and work styles
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
