Inginaire is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for their client in Ramsey, MN. This is an excellent Contract to Hire opportunity.

This is a hands-on position that responsible for the development, documentation, and management of Supplier Quality Assurance and Control processes as required to support facility/division/corporate quality objectives.
This position will act as the Supplier quality consultant to transfer project teams, and will lead projects to resolve supplier quality issues.
This position is also responsible to manage the internal Material Review Board, to participate in qualification efforts for new suppliers, to monitor and report on supplier performance of existing suppliers, and to perform on-site audits of supplier quality systems.
The position requires a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing practices and concepts and will help implement and continuously improve those practices.
Duties:
  • Lead the internal Material Review board and assist in the investigation of component defects and failures
  • Drive Quality initiatives at Suppliers, improving Quality performance through Effective Problem Solving using Quality tools and concepts
  • Drive / Manage Approved Vendor List including Supplier Qualification and validation
  • Develop positive relationships and work closely with Sourcing Leaders to manage and implement Supplier/Engineering changes, new product introductions, and product transfers
  • Development / Improvement of Supplier measurement systems
  • Evaluation of Supplier parts approval process, First Article reports and test data
  • Ownership of Supplier Quality scorecards including key metrics such as, KPI's, PPM defect rate, Supplier Quality effectiveness, and Corrective & Preventative Actions
  • Track supplier performance and prepare and issue monthly reports of supplier and material quality performance, issues, and actions
  • Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests as appropriate in response to detected supplier quality trends, and follow-up with suppliers on root cause investigation and closed loop corrective action
  • Plan and perform component, supplier, and process qualifications including First Article Inspections, and the preparation of written test protocols and reports
  • Process and systems audits of key Suppliers ensuring Supplier compliance, and development of improvement plans where deficiencies are documented
  • Source Inspection of critical components to print / standard requirements at Sub-Tier Suppliers
  • Provide Quality Engineering support during new product introduction
  • Provide technical expertise to Customers / Suppliers in solving quality or technical problems
  • Keeps relevant plant personnel informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management of the Quality Management System
  • Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with other personnel to ensure a coordinated work effort and a team approach
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned

Requirements:
    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Four year degree in a technical field.
  • ASQ Quality Engineer certification desired.
  • Familiarity and exposure to ISO and AS9100 systems desired.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of SPC, GD&T, FMEA, DOE.
  • Knowledge of gauging methodology and metrology.
  • Working understanding of assembly methods, fixtures, tooling, and fabrication methods.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Two to five years of experience in Quality Systems in general manufacturing

  • Strong leadership and sound decision making capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of company personnel and positions
  • Communicating with others both verbal and written
  • Mobility within the work facility
