PRIMARY FUNCTIONAt Target, we're paving the way for a new Marketing ecosystem. Built on a foundation of data and technology, our digital marketing efforts connect people to relevant content; delivering business outcomes that position Target among a new breed of retailers. To better leverage and monetize these capabilities we've created a new position that will connect our Marketing Partners, within and beyond Target, to Ad Products and Platforms.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis role will lead strategic, social products and capabilities that create increased Guest participation across Target Guest Access' suite of products and social platforms.
  • Responsible for managing a portfolio of social products that drive innovative solutions across external social media partners
  • Leverage marketing technology (Location tools, data, audiences, etc.) to deliver business results
  • Deliver data-driven, results-oriented media products & strategies that satisfy enterprise marketing goals
  • Lead the planning, execution and optimization of social media campaigns working through agencies and third parties
  • Drive marketing goals (traffic and sales) ensuring consistent messaging of the guest experience utilizing assets from across the enterprise
  • Develop and build relationships with key partners: External agency, media and technology partners, Target business, marketing, platform and channel owners
  • Establish best practices for social products
  • Advance effectiveness and drive insights; includes planning, prioritization, measurement, structure and analysis of the products
  • Monitor industry trends and advancements and apply them to the suite of offerings
  • Communicate, educate, and evangelize suite of products across the enterprise
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6-10+ years of social media planning, buying, or content experience
  • Experience managing a P&L driven marketing/media budget
  • Ability to analyze complex data and market research to develop actionable plans and insights
  • Track record of thinking strategically, delivering results and managing operations
  • Strong collaboration skills with both internal and external partners
  • Comfortable engaging with Agile product development teams
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Ability to collaborate and navigate the organization effectively
  • Strong analytical skills and data acumen

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
  • Member of the Digital Marketing and Media Team (Marketing Pyramid)
  • Reports to Sr. Manager, Digital Advertising.
  • Key external constituents may include: Agencies (ex: Merkle, Team Arrow, Razorfish), platform based social media companies (ex: SnapChat, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Google, etc.), External Media Publishers, Data partners (ex: Acxiom, LiveRamp, etc.), and Creative partners
  • Key internal constituents include: Target Media Network, Target Guest Access Product and Reporting owners, Target Brand and Category Marketers, Target Media Strategy, and Target Creative
