The Compensation Director will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of Target's broad based compensation programs and processes to support the Pay & Benefits and enterprise strategy.This role is a strategic thought leader responsible for assessing the effectiveness and impact of our base and short term incentive programs and ensuring our processes and program delivery is efficient. In addition this role will ensure that our broad based compensation programs are competitive and cost effective and align with the overall compensation strategy through regular analysis.

·Provide strategic direction and lead the Compensation Programs and Processes team (5 direct reports), coaching team members and ensuring team strategy and goals align with overall compensation vision as well as HR and total Target. Coach team on change management, teaching them to manage through ambiguity and change as well as being forward thinking.
·Directs the design of base pay and short term incentive programs to ensure the programs drive employee performance and are market competitive.
·Leads team through the development and execution of enterprise wide global compensation processes that support the strategic goals of Total Compensation. This includes development, execution, systems and reporting, and resources and communication.Evaluating these processes on an ongoing basis to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
·Leads team through the development, enhancements and maintenance of Compensation reporting and systems.
·Partner with Compensation Leadership Team and HR Leaders on all compensation processes and programs, and provide and consultation where needed.
·Partner with Target Communications to develop communications plans.
·Partner with Learning and Development and Marketing on development of engagement plans (including resources, communication and training needs).
·Measure effectiveness of compensation programs and processes through regular analysis and reporting to ensure intended outcomes are met.
·Keep up to date on compensation market trends.
·Lead compensation projects as required.
·Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
·10 plus years Compensation/Human Resource experience
·Strong Leadership background
