Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Temporary
The Health and Wellness Clinic at Saint Catherine University seeks a temporary Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care to students in an outpatient setting.
The Health and Wellness Clinic provides a comprehensive array of health and wellness services that are responsive to the needs of an all- women's college population. This position is approximately 16 hours per week between approximately the end of August and mid-November 2017. This position reports to the Director of the Health and Wellness Clinic.

Responsibilities: As a clinician in the Health and Wellness Center, provider will be responsible for direct patient care and related services for students. Care responsibilities may include but are not limited to: women’s health maintenance including annual female exams; managing care of students with acute, recurrent or chronic health problems; managing mental health issues through select treatment including prescribing medications when appropriate and collaboration with the counseling center; performing minor laceration repair; providing patient education related to all areas of wellness; assisting in the supervision of clinic staff; maintaining accurate medical records; ordering and interpreting selected diagnostic procedures; oversight and management of student health insurance; supervision of and teaching nurse practitioner students in the clinical setting, as well as supervision of peer education groups and clinic administrative duties as determined by the clinic director.
Qualifications: Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant training program. CNP Certification (Adult, Family, Acute Care) by American Nurse Credentialing Center, American Nurse Assn, or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and be licensed in the state of MN OR have a current MN PA-C license and be certified through NCCPA. Prescriptive authority through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota. Must be comfortable practicing autonomously in an outpatient setting. The NP/PA will collaborate with a physician and other medical providers to coordinate patient care as appropriate. Minimum of two years practicing in an outpatient setting is preferred.
Must be able to work well independently, as well as function as a member of the Health and Wellness team.
