  • PRIMARY FUNCTIONThis role leads the creative direction of Marketing owned creative elements for seasonal and/or licensing campaigns. This leader will focus on leading ideation and execution of creative solutions that connect with our guests across multiple categories and channels. The leader manages the work of external agencies and guides internal teams to ensure brand and campaign consistency. Principal Duties and Responsiblities
    • Partners effectively with Category Marketing, Product Design and Developement (PD&D) and Merchandising leadership to ensure creative is meeting the needs of Marketing, Merchandising and pre-determined business strategies
    • Articulates the creative vision, and guides several multi-disciplinary creative teams toward innovative expression of a networked narrative, in partnership with Creative Leadership.
    • Oversees development and execution of creative work (standards, innovation, consistency) aligned to overall Marketing strategic goals.
    • Shares Target's brand voice and culture to infuse the work with an unmistakable Target approach, seamlessly integrating a multicultural guest lens.
    • Advance creative solutions and challenge conventional thinking in tandem with Media planning team to play in many innovative spaces.
    • Present and represent creative work to partners and key leaders (Marketing and Merchant VP/SVP teams).
    • Present and represent creative work and vision to Sr. Executive Studio and Licensing partners

    • Responsible to help identify top creative talent; leads internal working teams, contractors and external agencies to deliver on creative concepts

    • This role does not have direct reports

    • SVP, VPs, Sr. Directors and Directors across Marketing
    • SVP, VPs, Sr. Directors and Directors across Merchandising
    • SVP, VP's Sr.Directors and Directors across PD&D
    • Creative agencies and internal creative teams.
    • Third Parties providing creative services.
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Design, Graphic Design, Art or other related field
    • 5 - 8 years of relevant professional experience, broadcast and digital video strongly preferred
    • Experience in retail, design and advertising industry
    • Flexible to travel (weekends included) - as needed
    • Clear communication style: written and spoken.
    • Ability to sell a creative idea to non-creative leadership.
