Behavior Intervention Specialists - Special Ed Teacher on Special Assignment
Full Time

Behavior Intervention Specialists assigned to buildings that house center-based programs or other specifically designated buildings.

Duties:  Work with students with significant behavior concernsacross all disability categories.  Provide assistance with crisis intervention.  Consult with staff and assist in determining behavior intervention strategies/ideas, appropriate IEP goals/objectives, determining social skills and communication strategies.  Assist in determining appropriate modifications/adaptations, sensory needs and visual supports.  Assist and guide staff in the development and implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Plans and Functional Behavior Assessments.  Provide training throughout the school year to small and large groups.

Minimum Qualifications:  Requires Any Special Ed License.
(Anoka-Hennepin will make every effort to hire teachers with full standard licenses in the assigned subject and grade level.)

Preferred Qualifications:  Challenging Behavior Experience preferred. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.  Knowledge of behavior concerns and how they impact learning. Knowledge of sensory concerns and how they impact learning. Exhibit skills at determining function of behavior. Exhibit skills in behavior management. Maintain certification as Crisis Prevention Intervention trainer. Able to work as part of a collaborative team. Able to prioritize work tasks to address the most critical issues first. Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills. Exhibit excellent written communication skills. Able to plan and deliver staff development.
