Interpreting Services Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Interpreting, the Interpreting Services Coordinator supports all aspects of day-to-day interpreting services activity, proficiency testing, and language-related services. Coordinator is able to work under pressure and maintain a sense of humor during busy times. Coordinator is responsible for participating in the development and implementation of operational systems that result in excellent customer service and growth for each department. Job duties include:

  • Serve as the first point of contact via phone and email between clients and vendors
  • Use a customized database to manage interpreting services.
  • Support the entire service cycle from receiving the order, staffing the assignment, processing vendor invoices and preparing client invoices
  • Speak with and write to customers, interpreters and testers on a daily basis
  • Develop language talent through on-going recruiting efforts and training
  • Participate in management meetings and strategic planning
  • Perform other related duties

    Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Rigor in relationship to time and time management
  • High level of linguistic accuracy with proper names, addresses, dates and times
  • Sensitivity to and/or understanding of people from different cultures and countries
  • Ability to speak to and understand non-native English speakers
