PRICING CONFIGURATION BUSINESS ANALYST

Position Description

This position is responsible to perform analysis of business goals, objectives and requirements of the business.   Design solutions for improving productivity and efficiency of both internal and cross-departmental processes.  Provide recommendations for system and process enhancements and improvements that support business and functional requirements and integration with technical systems, applications and activities. Lead initiatives to implementation.  Document and manage requirements and other project/process-related materials; managing communications; validating solutions and collaborating with related departments to triage and troubleshoot post-implementation issues.  Serve as a Liaison between the PEC Pricing Team and other business partners and technical areas. 

·Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand issues and needs.

·Collaborate with business teams to define project direction and scope, create project plans and facilitate project meetings.

·Gather and translate business requirements and work with PEC pricing team to translate into functional requirements.

·Communicate project direction, scope and negotiate with stakeholder teams to work through constraints and alternatives. 

·Communicate project updates as necessary to business and management teams and other stakeholders.

·Assist in testing configuration and other technical solutions and creating system documentation and user manuals.

·Perform data extraction and in-depth analysis to identify and troubleshoot production processing issues.

·Participate in external application user groups and communicate best practices to PEC pricing management.

·Stay current with all available technical options, development procedures and innovative solutions for key business initiatives.

·Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business or health care preferred; demonstrated work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of experience working in a managed health care environment. Working knowledge or managed care operations, system development and testing. Advanced PC experience.

Preferred Experience

Experience as a Systems or Business Analyst. Previous configuration experience. System knowledge of Amisys software. System knowledge or Macess Software. Microsoft Office software experience. Previous experience with CMS, DHS or payer reimbursement methodologies and /or payment policies. Advanced skills in data manipulation and analysis (Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL).
