Pro Staff is currently hiring a Contract Buyer (3-6 month project) for our client located in Arlington, TX and is a leading national healthcare distributor of therapeutic support surfaces.Work Schedule: M-F 8am - 5pm

Position Summary  
The Buyer is responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising, for organization by performing the following duties.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:  
• Reviews requisitions
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as availability and delivery schedule
• Prepares purchase orders
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
• Maintains acceptable inventory levels according to goals based on inventory turns and dollars
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
• Approves invoices for payment
• Expedites delivery of goods to users

Required Qualifications 
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Skills & Experience: 
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Attention to detail
• Problem analysis and problem resolution
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
• Experience with Demand Flow Technology/Just In Time concepts
• CPIM, CIRM, or CPM certification desirable
