We are seeking an experienced R&D Technician that has experience programming PLC’s, support performance testing and validation testing on electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems. This is a great opportunity at an innovative medical device company in Plymouth.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
-Program PLC’s that will be used to control and monitor the electromechanical equipment that has been constructed and documents the code.
-Assemble, Program, document, and set-up electromechanical equipment and machines including hydraulic components, piping, frame members, sheet metal, various sensors, and electrical components and associated wiring.
-Work from verbal instruction, sketches and or detailed drawings including but not limited to hydraulic and electrical schematics.
-Utilize Word and Excel programs to generate procedures, develop/modify test plans, validation protocols, test summaries, graphs and data collection sheets as well as document procedures and methods.
-Evaluate test results of devices, according to protocols, test plans or outlines to determine physical characteristics and performance. Documents test results on appropriate data sheets and within lab notebooks.
-Construct, modify and monitor test apparatus.
-Research, specify and order common electrical and mechanical components.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Associates Degree from vocational school or technical college, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Automated Systems and Robotics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, etc.) and a minimum of 5+ years related PLC experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Minimum of one year of experience with component and system performance testing in a product development environment.
-Previous experience with PLC programming is required; experience with Pro Face a Plus.
-Capable of reading/creating mechanical, hydraulic and electrical drawings and schematics.
-Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical and statistical concepts to work
-Must be able to operate general hand tools as well as operate basic testing equipment.
-Adept at using Microsoft Office Products and internet to generate procedures, test summaries, graphs and data collection sheets as well as document procedures and methods.
-Must have excellent communication skills to work with a variety of engineers and technical personnel to ensure goals are met on time and in accordance with regulations.
