Coordinator of Diversity Recruitment or Assistant Director of Admissions-Diversity Recruitment

Luther College Admissions seeks a full-time Coordinator of Diversity Recruitment or Assistant Director of Admissions-Diversity Recruitment. The successful candidate will work with area programs serving under represented students and support diversity, as well as assist in the recruitment and retention efforts for Luther College. Duties will include developing relationships with school counselors and coordinators; provide services at the Admissions Office and collateral services at the Diversity Center; support for admissions counselors and their interactions with students of color; recruit current Luther students of color as Admissions Ambassadors; build attendance at summer science and business seminars; build networks among alumni and other persons in positions of influence in strategic locations-with the help of Alumni/Development; and recruit students from specific geographic region(s).

Must be willing to travel extensively and make public presentations. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a positive driving record that will enable them to be insured through the college.

B.A. or B.S. required with academic preparation in any discipline, but must have above average written and verbal communication skills. Experience in sales, marketing, communication, and education is highly desirable. Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful candidate must be enthusiastic, goal-oriented, assertive, self-motivated, team-oriented and capable of representing Luther adequately and appropriately to prospective students and parents. As an Admissions Counselor, one year of relevant post graduate experience is recommended. To be considered for the Assistant Director level, the successful candidate should have a minimum of four years of experience.
