Pacemaker-Electrophysiology RN is an expert in the field of Cardiac Rhythm Management. They are responsible for delivering the highest standard of clinical care to patients with pacemakers and ICDs as well as maintaining the clinical knowledge to provide that care. Responsible for evaluation and management of CRM devices under the supervision of a physician. Provides support to patients with pacemakers and/or ICD's including other types of dysrhythmias (ablation patients). This includes education to patients and families regarding (but not limited to): types of devices and home monitoring systems; care required post-implant including cleaning; monitoring and maintaining the integrity of the procedure site; indications to seek medical attention; changes to settings and what observations are significant to report to their physician; cardiovascular disease processes including anatomy and physiology, and follow-up care required for optimal device therapy.
