Privacy and Data Protection Analyst
The Privacy and Data Protection Analyst reports to the Chief Privacy Officer and assists the Privacy and Data Protection Office with the implementation and monitoring of the privacy and data protection program for Samsung’s North American affiliates. This role will be based in Ridgefield Park, NJ and may require travel to other Samsung offices in North America.
Position Responsibilities: Assist the Privacy and Data Protection Office, which covers all North American Samsung affiliates, in driving compliance with all policies, frameworks and contractual requirements as well as all applicable laws and regulations relating to privacy and data protection; Oversee Privacy and Data Protection policies and procedures including annual issuance of relevant workforce training; planning and executing risk assessments to identify privacy and data protection related risks, control deficiencies, and compliance issues; drafting and updating privacy and data protection documentation; Monitor emerging legislation and regulation related to privacy and data, recommend policy change as necessary; Provide subject matter expertise to clients regarding innovation in order to enable compliance with privacy and data protection requirements; Assist with the development of testing protocols and related reporting; proactively devise solutions for privacy issues found in testing; Evangelize and embed “Privacy by Design” principles is business’ innovation and data products; Develop, communicate and ensure adherence to department risk policies, procedures and best practices; Foster an environment of regulatory awareness and ensure regulatory compliance; Demonstrate and embed the privacy behaviors and competencies that create a risk management mindset within the organization; and Support and monitor ongoing staff education and development in effective privacy and data security risk management.
