Pro Staff is currently looking for a 1st and 3rd shift Maintenance Lead for a food manufacturing company in Bonner Springs, KS. This is a direct hire opportunity with a starting hourly salary of $28/hr. This position is responsible to support the Maintenance Supervisor in directing work activities. Indirectly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department. Assists with direction and coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, overseeing, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Job Responsibilities:
• Perform duties of maintenance mechanic as described in the maintenance mechanic job description as well as lead other maintenance mechanics.
• In absence of supervisor, act as liaison with personnel and/or department head for all personnel related concerns. Document any work injury or rule violation for Maintenance Supervisor review and action.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with cross-training of personnel in job functions as need.
• Ensure safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to hazardous communication and MSDS requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition.
• Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs, and regulatory requirements.
• Support and comply with GMP’s.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Ensure members of Maintenance Team comply with all of the requirements outlined above.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Work Experience
• High School Diploma
• The employee frequently is required to stand for a prolonged time, walk, climb steps and work on elevated platforms.
• The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to read, speak and write English so as to assimilate, retain, and apply training and knowledge of job functions and recognize and communicate problems and recommended solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
