The primary function of this role is to support Target's food supply chain by providing accurate operational forecasts (facility level volume and space projections) so that production plans can be synced with sales and inventory plans to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of fresh food.  
The role includes gathering and analyzing planning/forecasting data, evaluating and improving forecasting models, and leveraging analytics to support making the right business decisions across the food supply chain.Process Knowledge & Improvement• Own the design requirements and use of forecasting tools to produce volume (inbound, outbound, and storage) forecasts for all Target-owned food supply chain facilities.
• Enhance processes to balance volume projections with supply chain capabilities and merchant strategy to ensure the supply chain is capable of efficiently supporting forecasted volumes.
• Drive transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement by designing solutions to track key assumptions, inputs, and outputs at key milestones.
• Deploy a solution that appropriately combines actual product movement data when available (PO data, track and trace way points) as well as promotional plans, competitor/market insight, and historical performance.
• Lead cross functional teams on ongoing and one time deliverables to improve timeliness and quality of inputs and projections.
• Influence leaders by providing accurate data analysis and interpretation with well-founded insights.
• Identify roadblocks and communicate proactively to key stakeholders alerting them of potential delays and emerging needs.Data Analysis
• Deploy data-science solutions to enhance forecasting quality to better address business needs.
• Deploy analytical techniques to identify key drivers of forecast error and risk (by business and time horizon).  Assist in the prioritization of modeling improvements and in the development of appropriate risk based scenarios.
• Leverage visualization and simulation as appropriate to share model output to broader supply chain teams to assist in identification of inefficiencies and risk.
• A minimum of 4 years' experience, preferably in Forecasting or Supply Chain/Demand Planning
• B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Math, Statistics, Physics, and/or Computer Science or a related analytical field; M.S. preferred
• Excellent problem solving and project management skills
• Track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement
• A strong passion for data driven decision-making and an ability to communicate persuasively using data and analytics   
• Retail S&OP experience preferred
