Jail Administrator

DESCRIPTION: Becker County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Jail Administrator. The incumbent has the overall responsibility for all operations of the correctional facilities for Becker County and reports to the County Sheriff.  The position manages to facilitate smooth and orderly operation with a goal to serve and protect, ensuring a safe environment by providing for the care, custody and control of inmates remanded to its facilities in a professional and fiscally responsible manner.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years management/supervisory experience in corrections or related field  OR  an Associate’s Degree and three (3) years management/supervisory experience in corrections or related field.  2) Two plus years work related experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.  3) Valid Driver’s License. 4) Successful completion of background check.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:  Depends on Qualifications/Experience.  Becker County also offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including a cafeteria plan consisting of three health plans (including options for an HRA or HSA), dental, vision, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts.  The County’s monthly contribution rate for 2017 is $1,269.25 with the option of cash in lieu of up to $682.85.

LOCATION:  Detroit Lakes, MN – County Seat.  The county is situated in the heart of what is known as Park Region, which is considered one of Minnesota's most beautiful and versatile recreation areas.  It contains more than 400 lakes and stretches 30 miles north to south and 48 miles east to west.
