Doherty Career Solutions has partnered with a global leader in high quality precision moulding and custom design solutions. This company is at the forefront of global developments in the liquid packaging, bio-pharmaceutical and medical industries. We are currently interviewing for an Engineering Technician to join their team in Lester Prairie, MN. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with initial screening by Doherty. The pay range for this position is $20-$25 per hour based on experience and skillset.

Position Overview:
The Engineering Technician supports the molding operation with process, equipment, part quality and issue troubleshooting. This technician also participates in continuous improvement and safety projects with the engineering and maintenance teams.

Description & Responsibilities:
• Work safely and efficiently; participate in plant wide safety efforts, provide plant wide support and attend all training programs
• Establish new product molding processes and procedures, and verify quality data to recommend any adjustments required to meet customer specifications
• Generate and maintain molding, tooling, and assembly related process documentation
• Participate in molding process design, modification, troubleshooting, and maintenance projects
• Participate in new machine start-up and commissioning
• Generate and maintain molding related work instructions
• Participate in molding related training efforts
• Audit molding related corrective action activities for accuracy and completeness
• Identify plant-wide inefficiencies and propose/implement corrective action
• Facilitate small to medium size engineering projects (define requirements, test & compile data, research alternatives, analyze results, perform cost analysis and make recommendations, implement)
• Be available for on-call emergency projects/repairs and overtime as necessary
• Address and resolve daily manufacturing problems

Qualifications & Experience:
• Two-year post high school education in industrial or technical discipline
• Must have plastic injection molding experience - 5 years experience preferred
• Strong computer skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills, team orientated, self-motivated
• Ability to read electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, & part prints
• Ability to utilize test equipment, oscilloscopes and analyzers as troubleshooting tools
