Position Summary

In- depth, complex understanding of one or two aspects of Injection Molding, Spinning and Compression Molding operations

Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Sets-up and operates all Spinning, Injection Molding and Compression Molding machines and related equipment
  • Makes machine adjustments or process improvements to improve part quality or machine optimization
  • Arrives before shift begins and stays after shift ends to help with shift transitions
  • Works closely with support departments to address maintenance or tooling concerns
  • Makes suggestions for process or department improvements
  • Shrink wraps, tapes, weighs boxes and materials as needed
  • Samples material, molds, punches and dies
  • Monitors productivity by tracking downtime and cycle rates
  • Trains other manufacturing  techs, assistants and operators
  • Creates schedules and machine utilization plans
  • Makes data entries including bar coding, material moving, shipping and receiving
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area and tool box
  • Loads and unloads  trucks and  properly locates raw materials
  • Must be comfortable communicating with others through face to face, email or telephone contact
  • Organizes cabinets, mold storage areas and documentation in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Has a sense of urgency and anticipates potential problems
  • Promotes a healthy attitude and view of the department and the company
  • Assigns jobs for operators based on skill level

Qualifications

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of one or two aspects of the department(Spinning, Injection Molding, Compression Molding)
  • Able to perform visual inspection of parts and make any needed adjustments to machines and/or related auxiliary equipment
  • Must show initiative, motivation and be able to multi task without direction

Physical Requirements

  • Stands entire shift
  • Twisting turning and stooping during  material handling and machine set-ups
  • Periodically lifts 60 lbs. of material
  • High noise level- Hearing protection required
  • Exposure to airborne particles-Eye protection required
  • Exposure to high level of heat from machines or materials
  • Steel toe boots required
