Doherty Staffing Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer for our client company located in Monticello, MN. This is a highly sought after day shift opportunity. This opportunity pays $48,000-$60,000 and if skills and experience warrant increased compensation, our client is willing to increase pay.


With an emphasis on die casting, this is a hands-on position with a focus on providing support to production departments, addressing and resolving quality issues through the use of effective problem solving tools and techniques. While the primary emphasis will be on die cast quality issues, this position will also include providing support to CNC and subcontract/supplier quality issues.

• Lead problem solving teams to address customer complaints and internal quality issues.
• Manage internal and external corrective actions and preventive actions using corrective action database and / or customer specific formats.
• Utilize problem solving tools to improve die cast process performance and reduce scrap.
• Maintain, update, and train appropriate employees on manufacturing quality plans including inspection and control plans, as well as, operator work instructions.
• Analyze and interpret prints, data, and manuals to understand product requirements.
• Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications
• Train appropriate employees on the use of gaging, customer requirements, and quality plans and operator work instructions.
• Issue and track RMA's.
• Communicate quality issues with suppliers and subcontractors and work with them to resolve performance issues.
• Travel to suppliers and subcontractors as needed or required.
• Provide leadership in establishing a quality culture and maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Provide guidance in interpreting ISO/TS 16949 standards and internal policies to assure compliance and serve as an internal auditor as assigned.
• Maintain complete confidentiality relating to sensitive business, financial, and personnel issues.
• Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health and safety rules, policies, and procedures for work area and takes responsibility to assure that personal work activity is conducted in such a way so as to not affect the safety of themselves or others.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Training in vocational school or associates degree with 5+ years quality experience within the die casting industry, including knowledge and understanding of the die casting process.
• Proven problem solving proficiency within a die casting environment.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to effective prioritize and execute tasks.
• Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
