Direct and supervise a Facilities Maintenance staff of four (electrician and service technicians). Oversee completion of preventive maintenance tasks, equipment and system repairs, and building renovation and construction projects.
Manage the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, switchgear, emergency power generation systems, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), security equipment, life safety, public address, lighting controls, and material handling systems for an office building environment with 24/7/365 mission critical data centers and other operations. Ensure the operational readiness of all electrical systems and equipment.
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and national codes and OSHA requirements.
Coach and develop staff by communicating performance expectations, providing ongoing performance feedback, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring training and development plans and programs are implemented to address individual and team needs. Establish and monitor productivity goals to ensure that work is completed per Department and/or Bank Standards.
Create and provide a variety of written communications, including customer notices, technical recommendations, and status reports on projects/tasks to management; present recommendations and statuses as requested. Exercise good judgment and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Resolve a range of system problems from the routine to the highly complex. Provide electrical, mechanical, construction expertise and assist with technical decisions and implementations. Assist management in conducting feasibility studies on new, improved, or changing technologies.
Provide input and review project designs and specifications with architects, consultants, engineers, planning analysts, and contractors to ensure that all electrical construction projects, preventive maintenance, renovations and other building needs are met.
Function as a technical resource expert to Facility Management, Bank staff, consultants, engineers, and outside contractors, concerning electrical operations of the Bank’s emergency power generation systems, uninterruptible power supply systems, and the building’s electrical, low voltage communication, security, and life safety systems.
Manage the activities of outside electrical, low voltage, security, and other contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Provide input for accurate electrical, electronic and communication project cost estimates and schedules.
Periodically review the needs and scope of electrical upgrades, capital projects, and capital equipment with department management.
Serve as a project leader and/or facilitates team member relating to efforts on complex System and local projects. Communicate and collaborate across department functions to resolve business issues.
Assume other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
