Construction Services Technician
Installs structures and fixtures, such as flooring, access floor panels, doors, shelves, trim, or hardware, using carpenter`s hand and power tools.
Repairs cabinets, furniture, fixtures, etc., using wood and metal working machines and hand tools.
Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs, and terminates low voltage wiring and wiring devices for Data Communication, Data Transmission, Telecommunications, etc.
Installs floor boxes and other protective enclosures for the installation of low voltage devices.
Installs raceway and conduit for the protection of wire and cable in exposed areas.
Works with construction and furniture installation contractors.
Vocational school graduate in commercial carpentry, construction services, electrical, low voltage wiring, or equivalent experience. Continuing education to keep abreast of advancement in technology.
Three years of experience in commercial carpentry, commercial furniture installation, or construction services. Skilled in the repair, restoration and installation of wood or related materials.
Ability to lift and carry 80 pounds.
Requires on call coverage on weekends and after-hours for critical and /or emergency situations involving the building mechanical systems. Also requires ability to work shifts outside an assigned regular work schedule as necessary to meet the department`s needs.
Knowledge of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models preferred.
