  • Partner with application owners/teams to understand application and business needs and LOS (level of service)
  • Provide ownership of all database objects in DB schema (tables, partitions, indexes, views, procedures)
  • Provide application performance tuning activities
  • Working with Information Architecture (IA) team on logical/physical database modeling
  • Application HA (high availability) architecture
  • Using database expertise and leadership experience to identify and drive improvement efforts related to our database portfolio
  • Performing problem resolution for complex issues including root cause analysis, and outlining resolution options
  • Providing full-lifecycle support for complex database environments
  • Consulting with development teams to advise on physical database architecture and application use
  • Providing off-hours support, when required, for critical production issues.
  • Ensuring system documentation is complete per TTS (Target Technology Services) standards
  • Automate Infrastructure components leveraging understanding of scripting, coding and automation using one or more of the following: PowerShell, VBScript, Microsoft DSC, Chef, Puppet, Ruby, or others
  • Have familiarity with SDLC models and best practices and use of source control and testing tools such as GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, Drone
  • Leverage and learn open source operating systems and tools
  • Bring a technology agnostic and open perspective in technical recommendations and decision making, being able to articulate and advocate for best technical solution that meets big picture business needs
Requirements
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years total work experience
  • Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art engineering technical approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems as required by domain
  • Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
